At Chronister Family Wines we are obsessive about making the best possible wine using a traditional approach. Our wine are produced in small lots, usually less than 200 cases each to ensure exacting attention to detail. Clusters are optical and hand sorted to meet the highest quality standard, and we maintain skin contact up to month prior to going into barrel. A combination of new and neutral French oak may be used, with the exact mix being determined by the varietal, region, vintage and whim
Most of our wines are racked only once per year, if at all, and we rarely filter or fine before bottling. We have no set timetable aging our wines, whether they stay in barrel for 1 year or 3, the wines will let us know when they are ready.
